Huntington Beach is a blue-water municipality in Orange County in Southern California, located 35 country miles (56 km) southeast of Cosmopolis Los Angeles Anaheim jail. The municipality is named after American businessman HenryE. Huntington. The population was during the 2010 tally, making it the fourth most stirring municipality in Orange County, the most stirring strand municipality in Orange County, and the seventh most stirring municipality in the Los Angeles-Long Beach-Anaheim, CA Metropolitan Statistical Area. It's rimmed by Bolsa Chica Basin State Marine Conservation Area on the west, the Pacific Ocean on the southwest, by Seal Beach on the northwest, by Westminster on the north, by Fountain Valley on the northeast, by Costa Mesa on the east, and by Newport Beach on the southeast.

Huntington Beach is known for its long9.5- far cry (15.3 km) stretch of straw strand, mild climate, excellent surfing, and strand culture. The ocean swells are enhanced by a natural effect caused by the edge-diffraction of open ocean swells around Santa Catalina Island. (citation took) Swells generated generally from the North Pacific in time-out and from a combination of Southern Hemisphere storms and hurricanes in the summer focus on Huntington Beach, creating harmonious spume all stretch long, hence the moniker"Surf City".

The original Huntington Beach Pier was constructed in 1904 and was originally a- base-long timberstructure.Huntington Beach was incorporated on February 17, 1909, during the hitch of its first mayor, Ed Manning. Its original innovator was Huntington Beach Company ( formerly the West Coast Land and Water Company), a real- estate development establishment held by Henry Huntington. The Huntington Beach Company is still a major land- possessor in the megalopolis, and still owns paramount of the nonnative mineral rights. The company is now wholly held by the Chevron Corporation.

The main row of Huntington Beach, Beach Boulevard, was originally a cattle route for the main sedulity of the Rancho. Since its time as a parcel of the enormous Spanish land subsidy, Huntington Beach has sustained multitudinous manifestations. One time it was known as Shell Beach, the metropolis of Smeltzer, and either Gospel Swamp for the resurgence meetings that were held in the slough where the community guild Golden West College can presently be introduce. Thereafter it turned known as Fairview and either Pacific City, as it developed into a sightseer destination. In order to secure access to the Pacific Electric Red Car lines that used to criss- cross Los Angeles and ended in Long Beach, Pacific City ceded enormous power to railroad mogul HenryE. Huntington, and so turned a megalopolis whose name has been written into mass-market backing Anaheim detention, and like much of the history of Southern California, boosterism.

At one time, an encyclopedia company gave away free parcels of land (with the purchase of a whole set for$ 126) in the Huntington Beach area. The lucky buyers got farther than they had bargained for when canvas was discovered in the area, and enormous development of the canvas reserves followed. Though multiple of the old reserves are depleted, and the price of land for encasement has pushed multiple of the equipages off the geomorphology, canvas pumps can still be introduce to dot the megalopolis Huntington Beach jail.
